Brief biographies of the investment personnel can be found below.
Both have highly successful track records in the financial markets
as well as many years experience of trading and portfolio
management in the fine wine market. This combination has resulted
in a highly rigorous approach to portfolio construction and risk management coupled
with the strong relationships with growers and distributors, which
are essential for sourcing the right wine at the best possible
price. The tasting abilities of the fund managers allow up and
coming wines to be spotted early before they receive general critical
acclaim.
Andrew
Davison: former senior derivatives trader at Deutsche
Bank where he was a Director of the Global Markets Division
with responsibility for market-making and proprietary trading
of Euro Options one of Deutsches largest trading
books. He left the City with a track record of eight years profitable
trading.
In 2001 he joined the wine merchant Bordeaux Index where he
established the first two-way market-making screen for wine
futures based on the Bordeaux 2000 vintage and was responsible
for managing private client investment portfolios. He left Bordeaux
Index in March 2002 to set up OWC Asset Management Limited.
He holds a BA Hons in Mathematics and the Certificate of Advanced
Mathematics from Cambridge University.
- Gary Boom has been collecting
fine wine for over fifteen years and is a founding director
of the wine merchant Bordeaux Index Limited which was established
in 1997. He is a director of Mirror Image Group and Moving Image
Group which own a number of well known restaurants in central
London.
Between 1985 and 2001 he worked for several leading London money
brokers specialising in interest rate options and was a main
board director at Intercapital Group.
He has over six years experience of running wine investment
portfolios for private clients and holds a BSc in finance from
the University of Cape Town.
